John Mina

Mina, H. John, Born November 25, 1929, passed away at home peacefully with his loved ones by his side on July 16, 2009.  He was a long time resident of Long Beach, CA.  He moved to Boise, ID in 2007 to be near his one and only grandchild.  He married the love of his life, Betty, in 1964.  They raised two sons together whom he was so proud of.  He worked 30 years for Avco Financial Services.  He spent a few months in retirement, but enjoyed the working world so much, he worked for a mortgage company for another 12 years.  He was diagnosed with Mesothelioma in July, 2008.  He fought a hard and courageous battle against the disease for one year.  He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, two sons, Mark (wife Portia), John Jr. (wife Angela), and his granddaughter, Melody. A viewing for family and friends will be held Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Cloverdale Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held July 20, 2009 at 11:00 am at Cloverdale Memorial Park, 1200 N. Cloverdale Road, Boise, ID.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation www.curemeso.org.
